Verdagy, a green hydrogen electrolysis leader, has entered into a strategic partnership with Petron Scientech, a company specializing in sustainable chemical and biofuel process technologies.

According to the announcement, Petron will incorporate 320 MW of Verdagy’s eDynamic electrolyzers to produce over 45 kilotons per annum (KTA) of green hydrogen. This will integrate into Petron’s first biorefinery project to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), renewable diesel, and e-methanol. The project aims to achieve a CO2e reduction of 500 KTA through green hydrogen and an additional 2 megatons per year through combined biorefinery operations, with a projected lifetime reduction exceeding 60 megatons.

The collaboration between Verdagy and Petron extends beyond a single project, with plans for multiple biorefinery initiatives globally. These projects will focus on producing SAF, e-methanol, bio-chemicals, and polymers. To support these endeavors, Verdagy inaugurated a 1 GW electrolyzer manufacturing facility in Silicon Valley in 2024, ensuring the production of advanced electrolyzers for current and future projects.

The integration of Verdagy’s green hydrogen technology with Petron’s biorefineries is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions compared to fossil-based fuels and chemicals.
