Verkehrsbetrieb Hamm Issues Tender for Hydrogen Fueling Stations

Verkehrsbetrieb Hamm GmbH in Germany has issued a tender titled “Teilmobile Wasserstofftankstelle” on February 28, 2025. This tender invites proposals for the supply, installation, maintenance, and operation of a semi-mobile hydrogen fueling station for up to 30 buses. The deadline for submission of tenders is March 31, 2025.

Similarly, R.D.T. AIN in France has released a tender for “Avitaillement pour autocars et autobus à Énergie de traction hydrogène de type pile à combustible” on the same date, focusing on fuel supply for hydrogen fuel cell buses. Interested parties must submit their requests to participate by March 12, 2025.

These tenders are crucial for the hydrogen industry as they represent significant steps towards the integration of hydrogen as a mainstream fuel for public transport, thus promoting energy transition in urban environments.

The German tender by Verkehrsbetrieb Hamm GmbH seeks companies with proven experience in implementing hydrogen fueling solutions. They must have delivered at least three comparable hydrogen refueling stations for commercial vehicles in the past three years. Proposals will be evaluated primarily on total cost, which includes installation, initial operations, and potential maintenance costs over a span of up to 20 years.

The French tender encompasses a comprehensive procurement process under the directive 2014/25/EU and stipulates submission through electronic means. The focus here is to encourage competitive proposals through a structured negotiation process. This effort reinforces France’s commitment to expand its clean energy infrastructure.

Both tenders align with the broader goals of the European Union to cut carbon emissions and transition to renewable energy solutions in the transport sector. They signify a strategic push towards building infrastructure that supports cleaner, more sustainable mobility options for future urban transit systems.
