A Turkish flat steel producer has contracted Xebec Adsorption to deliver two Hy.GEN® 150 systems.
To produce a safe environment during the annealing heat-treatment process, the two units will have a capacity of roughly 600 kg of hydrogen per day (220 tons per year) at 99.999 percent purity. This contract from a flat steel manufacturer is the first of its kind for Xebec, and it is the company’s third in Turkey, demonstrating the company’s growing presence and varied set of industrial uses for on-site hydrogen generation.
“With our decentralized hydrogen generating technology, we are thrilled to be collaborating with one of Turkey’s major steel mills to minimize carbon emissions and the cost of their hydrogen supply. The use of high quality hydrogen in the steel annealing process is a new use for us, and it’s a great illustration of how we can help a wide range of industrial processes. “We are excited to expand our hydrogen reference base, which now includes active installations in glass production, food, electronics, hydrocracking, and the burgeoning mobility sector for hydrogen car refueling,” said Marinus van Driel, Xebec Europe President.
