Yamaha Motor Corporation unveiled its hydrogen-powered golf car at the Yamaha Marine Innovation Center in Georgia.
Yamaha, earlier this year, introduced hydrogen-powered solutions as potential alternatives for achieving carbon neutrality in its products. The company’s commitment to the Braintrust accentuates its strategy of levering different technologies to reach carbon neutrality by 2050.
Ben Speciale, the president of Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit, conveyed that hydrogen is one of the potential solutions Yamaha is considering to realize carbon neutrality for specific products such as larger marine outboard motors and golf cars. The corporation’s connections in Georgia enable collaborations with other businesses and leaders to understand hydrogen distribution infrastructure challenges and explore carbon-neutral options for multiple industries.
Georgia Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols reiterated the importance of Yamaha’s initiative in helping them navigate hydrogen technology. Echols acclaimed the statewide endeavors to pioneer hydrogen utilization, which is currently garnering national interest and investments.
