The global developer of the wpd project has placed another order for the N163 / 5.X turbines from the Nordex Group.
Nordex Group will supply 17 Delta4000 series turbines for the 96.9 MW “Nuolivaara” wind farm. The order also includes a 15-year premium service contract with the option to extend it for another 5 years.
The “Nuolivaara” wind farm will be built approximately 25 kilometers northeast of the center of Kemijärvi. The municipalities of Kemijärvi and Salla in northern Finland. Due to the harsh and cold climate in the northern part of the polar circle, Nordex Group will supply a version of the turbine for the cold climate.
This means that the turbine can operate in temperatures as low as -30 C. The rotor blades will be equipped with an advanced anti-freeze system. This system prevents the rotor blades from freezing before ice begins to form. Since the turbine can run continuously even in harsh Nordic conditions, it can significantly reduce energy loss.
