Keppel New Energy has inked an MOU with Temasek Holdings and Australia’s Incitec Pivot, a fertilizer company, to investigate the possibility of generating green ammonia in Australia for worldwide export.
The trio is considering ammonia production in Queensland and New South Wales. Incitec Pivot, an ASX-listed company, will offer its ammonia manufacturing expertise under the terms of the agreement. The land will be provided by Incitec Pivot on Kooragang Island in Newcastle, New South Wales.
Green ammonia is ammonia made entirely from renewable energy sources and using carbon-free technologies.
