On the site of a defunct hydroelectric project on the Olt River from Romania’s communist era, the Romanian energy business Hidroelectrica intends to build a 300 MW solar photovoltaic and green hydrogen project in Brasov County (central Romania).
The energy generated will power a green hydrogen production facility with an anticipated annual production capacity of 15,000 t, which will also be utilized to power Romanian consumers.
For the feasibility study and project specifications, which are valued at EUR 12.3 million (USD 2.5 million), Hidroelectrica has published a tender contract notice. Tenders may be submitted by 1 March 2023.
