Raven SR and H3 Dynamics to deploy waste-to-hydrogen systems for aviation ops

In order to enhance the decarbonization of airport operations and the deployment of hydrogen at airports, Raven SR and H3 Dynamics signed a memorandum of understanding to work together globally on waste-to-hydrogen energy systems.

In order to replace conventional fuel and other energy sources at airports, particularly those in Asia, Europe, and the United States, H3 Dynamics will offer hydrogen power systems. To supply airports, Raven SR will offer renewable hydrogen generating facilities. In order to cut emissions at airports, a variety of ground operations will be powered by hydrogen.

With the help of the Raven SR technology, landfill gas and organic waste are transformed into hydrogen and Fischer-Tropsch synthetic fuels through a non-combustion thermal, chemical reductive process. The Raven SR Steam/CO2 reformation method for producing hydrogen does not require fresh water as a feedstock, in contrast to conventional hydrogen production methods like electrolysis. The process can produce fuel with low to negative carbon intensity and is more effective than traditional methods of producing hydrogen. In addition, Raven SR wants to produce as much of its own electricity on-site as possible to lessen reliance on the power grid and eventually become grid-independent. Its modular construction offers a scalable way to generate synthetic liquid fuels and locally renewable hydrogen from garbage.

In order to configure hydrogen power system componentry to meet certification standards for the airport and aircraft environment, H3 Dynamics will collaborate with its technological and manufacturing partners.
