Huelva major models new plant after Power to Green Hydrogen Mallorca Project

Gabriel Cruz, the mayor of Huelva, paid a visit to the Power to Green Hydrogen Mallorca Project’s facilities. This project is coordinated by Enagás and Acciona Energa and includes IDAE and Cemex as partners.

The deputy mayor for urban planning, infrastructure, and public services of the Huelva City Council, Manuel Gómez Márquez, as well as representatives of the businesses Alter Enersun, Cepsa, and Enagás Renovable, accompanied the local councilor on the visit.

The purpose of this visit, to which the promotional firms invited Gabriel Cruz, was to assess the performance of a facility that serves as a model and a trailblazer in the development of green hydrogen in our nation.

The facility, which is the first renewable hydrogen plant in the nation and is located in Lloseta (Mallorca), is a part of the European project Green Hysland, the new EU Hydrogen Strategy, and the Government of Spain’s Hydrogen Roadmap.

Establishing a facility in the former Cemex cement plant will enable the islands’ regional government to meet its environmental goals by lowering reliance on hydrocarbon imports and fostering decarbonization.

South Holland to get hydrogen plant

If plans come to reality, lorries might start running on hydrogen produced at a plant nearby soon.

According to South Holland District Council, it has been collaborating with a private investor who wants to expand power and hydrogen distribution. Coun. Nick Worth, the deputy council leader and economics portfolio holder, is optimistic that a planning application for this novel technology will be submitted soon.

Leaders claim that a number of important economic changes, including this one, are enabling South Holland to “break the trend”.

It is estimated that every day, more than 1,000 lorries pass through South Holland. The district council’s climate change policy states that South Holland generates 603.1 kt of carbon dioxide overall, of which 190.7 kt come from transportation.

According to a study given to the council’s performance monitoring panel, if completed, the project will benefit a wider range of enterprises in addition to the logistics industry. It’s a huge opportunity, and in the long run, I believe we will have more opportunities with hydrogen than electricity, said councilman Worth when asked if the hydrogen might be utilized for tractors.

First Hydrogen unveils details of zero-emission LCVs

First Hydrogen has acquired the first photographs of the Generation II vehicles being launched with the EDAG Group (EDAG).

The first photographs reveal the next-generation vehicles’ front and rear looks. A sophisticated digital panel with the daytime running lights (TFL) configuration offers the transporter a distinct look and outstanding visibility. Vertical taillights flank the main storage access point. Since it has back, hinged, and roller doors, the design is functional.

EDAG is a global mobility engineering company noted for its high-end concept car and prototype development and automotive industry experience. First Hydrogen hired the company in 2022 to design its zero-emission lightweight commercial vehicles. The designs can fit different vehicle heights and lengths. Modular automobiles customized for each firm result. Can be adapted for rapid delivery, grocery, construction, utilities, emergency services, and car recovery.

First Hydrogen’s fuel cell vehicle offers zero-emission commercial vans and light commercial vehicles faster refueling, better range, higher payload, and load and towing possibilities.

Before operational audits, the company’s Generation I fuel cell vehicles are being tested for mileage and other factors. The British Aggregated Hydrogen Freight Consortium (AHFC), which includes supermarkets, utilities, roadside assistance, and health services, began using the carriers in March 2023. Operators can evaluate hydrogen-powered vehicles using these real-world and road testing.
