The Norwegian Orkla and the Swedish OX2 have partnered to provide green hydrogen to the company’s Haraldsby facility in Land.
The collaboration’s goal is to evaluate and schedule the hydrogen supply beginning in 2025. The planned Energy Park in Möckelö, as well as further solar park projects and eventually from the Noatun North and South offshore wind projects via planned hydrogen production in Längnäs, would supply the hydrogen for Orkla’s facility in Saltvik, Land (Mega Green Port).
OX2 claims that it is intended to switch to locally produced hydrogen in place of imported propane gas. Orkla Group plans to cut its carbon dioxide emissions on land by 20% in order to meet its 2025 goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 60%.
