Tsing Hydrogen (Beijing) Technology Co., is emerging as a frontrunner in the global drive towards green hydrogen. Recently securing a significant seed round financing, the company is poised to accelerate its mission to provide innovative solutions and products for the industrialization of hydrogen energy.

Founded in 2020, Tsing Hydrogen Technology is an innovation powerhouse, leveraging Tsinghua University’s hydrogen energy electrocatalysis technology to drive experimental scaling and development. Their offerings encompass a full spectrum of electrocatalysis materials, technologies, and equipment, with a particular focus on core catalyst materials and cutting-edge membrane electrode products.

At the heart of Tsing Hydrogen’s mission lies the ambition to revolutionize the green hydrogen industry. With the world’s attention firmly fixed on carbon neutrality and the transition to sustainable energy sources, the demand for eco-friendly hydrogen is at an all-time high.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), global hydrogen production is projected to reach a staggering 180 million tons by 2030. A significant portion of this growth is expected to come from hydrogen production via electrolytic water, escalating from less than 40,000 tons in 2021 to a colossal 61.7 million tons in the coming years. This robust outlook underscores the pivotal role that clean energy-based hydrogen production will play in our future.

Tsing Hydrogen Technology has strategically positioned itself as a provider of next-generation hydrogen electrocatalytic materials, essential technologies, and advanced equipment. Collaborating closely with Tsinghua University Nuclear Research Institute Fuel Cell Laboratory, the company has achieved remarkable breakthroughs in mass production processes of core catalysts, unveiling a new generation of high-performance membrane electrodes. These innovations are geared towards applications in water electrolysis for hydrogen production and fuel cells. Notably, the company’s platinum-based catalyst products have overcome production challenges, ensuring stable mass production and witnessing substantial batch sales.

The significance of precious metal catalysts in the green hydrogen industry cannot be overstated. These catalysts influence application costs and the commercialization trajectory of hydrogen energy. In China, where green hydrogen is taking center stage, reducing dependence on foreign precious metal catalyst manufacturers has become a strategic imperative. Currently, imports account for a staggering 90% of China’s precious metal catalysts, posing challenges related to cost control and reliable supply chains.

In response, Tsing Hydrogen Technology has adopted an ingenious approach, streamlining production processes with a high degree of automation control. The result? Remarkable efficiency, with just two individuals needed to oversee an entire reaction system. This not only minimizes human intervention but also aggressively pursues optimal cost-efficiency solutions.

Tsing Hydrogen Technology’s efforts have borne fruit, with contracts exceeding tens of millions of dollars and strategic collaborations with hydrogen energy firms linked to leading automobile manufacturers. The company is on track to achieve an impressive sales target of tens of millions of dollars this year.

Recognizing the evolving catalyst industry landscape, Tsing Hydrogen actively tailors its production lines to accommodate a wide range of customer needs. These adaptable lines are designed to cater to the diverse requirements of clients, emphasizing customization as a key feature of customer demand.

Looking ahead, Tsing Hydrogen Technology remains unwavering in its commitment to advancing core hydrogen catalytic materials, including mesoporous carbon catalysts and low iridium-based catalysts. The goal is to usher in a new era of comprehensive solutions for hydrogen energy electrocatalytic materials, solidifying its status as a trailblazer in sustainable hydrogen production and technological innovation. As the world seeks cleaner energy sources, Tsing Hydrogen is firmly positioned at the vanguard of this green hydrogen revolution.
