‘Turkey’s Role in the Hydrogen Economy’ discussed at 13th Istanbul Chamber of Industry Green Agenda Talks
13th Istanbul Chamber of Industry Green Agenda Talks covered ‘Turkey’s Role in the Hydrogen Economy’. At the ceremony organized by Board Member Vehbi Canpolat, hydrogen was said to help reach ‘net zero’ emissions by 2050.
As part of its sustainability vision, the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) hosted the 13th ISO Green Agenda Talks with the Turkish Energy, Nuclear, and Mining Research Institute (TENMAK) of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, titled ‘Turkey’s Development in the Hydrogen Economy’. It was called ‘Role’.
Port of Gothenburg completes infrastructure projects using hydrogen generator
Port of Gothenburg completed one of its greatest infrastructure projects using a hydrogen generator with new technologies to excavate emission-free. The plug-and-play generator is scalable and portable. It has fuel cell modules, power electronics, cooling, auxiliary systems, and intelligent control.
Hitachi Energy’s technical partner PowerCell Group supplied power modules and fuel cell integration skills. Hitachi Energy’s hydrogen generator’s first field test was at Arendal 2 in Gothenburg’s new terminal. For two weeks, Linde Gas’ green hydrogen has powered a charging station’s generator.
The charging station powers a Volvo electric excavator employed in one of the port’s major infrastructure projects to build 140,000 square metres of new terminal area in the outskirts of Gothenburg.
Hydrogen-powered ship to use Toyoda Gosei’s high-pressure tanks
For its April launch, a hydrogen-powered ship will use Toyoda Gosei’s high-pressure tanks.
Toyoda and Toyota Motor Corporation’s hydrogen storage technology from the Mirai fuel cell car and light-duty trucks is employed in the hydrogen solutions.
The Mitsui OSK Lines-backed MOTENA-Sea will operate the hydrogen-powered HANARIA, which will have fuel cells and biodiesel generators.
Toyota Motor created hydrogen storage modules for the project, integrating many big tanks to store and carry more fuel “efficiently and conventionally.”
Hydrogen solution for fuel cell trucks was released last year (2023). Fuel cell car tanks can hold eight times as much hydrogen as Toyoda Gosei’s passenger fuel cell vehicle tanks.
