Nordex Group has installed the first of 114 turbines for the Nysäter project in Sweden after completion of the necessary infrastructure work.
At the end of 2018, the Nordex obtained from RWE Renewables a contract for the turnkey construction of 104 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines and 10 N131/3900 turbines, consisting of two separate Hästkullen and Björnlandhöjden sites and including civil and electrical infrastructure works.
At the moment Nysäter is the Nordex Group’s largest project in Europe.
The Nysäter project is being developed over a wide area of largely forested land in Västernorrland county, central Sweden. The sites are distinguished by average wind speeds ranging from 7.5 to 8.0 meters per second.
Since the wind conditions and the complex topography inside the site are very different, the N149/4.0-4.5 turbines were designed using different tower heights and operating modes to maximize project efficiency and operating life.
The first turbine to be constructed at the Hästkullen site is the Delta4000 platform N149 turbine, which is mounted on a tubular steel tower of 145 metres.
