Toho Gas and Toyota Tsusho have teamed up with TotalEnergies of France to investigate the development of a value chain for hydrogen and synthetic methane, with the goal of lowering greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The businesses had agreed to collaborate on a feasibility study. The joint research will look at the value chain of TotalEnergies’ hydrogen and synthetic methane supplies to Japan, as well as the fuels’ distribution and consumption in the domestic market. Haulotte and Bouygues Energies & Services have announced a partnership to focus on using hydrogen energy to power its lifting equipment. Bouygues, an engineering and services company, will test a Haulotte MEWP equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell system in real-world conditions on several of its construction sites over the course of a year as part of the partnership. Bouygues will also research the hydrogen supply ecosystem for the MEWP’s entire construction sites. Australian Gas Networks, which is part of the Australian Gas Infrastructure Group, has expanded the delivery of renewable hydrogen to new customers at Hydrogen Park South Australia in its first year of operation. Enagás Infraestructuras de Hidrogeno was established by Enagás to make Spain a major producer of green hydrogen. It also wants to use the more than 11,000 kilometers of gas pipelines and underground storage facilities it has in Spain to transport and store green hydrogen. A Letter of Intent has been signed by Westinghouse Electric Company and Bloom Energy to pursue commercial nuclear power plant clean hydrogen production. Across the nuclear industry, the companies are working together to find and implement clean hydrogen projects. In India’s southern Karnataka state, renewable energy firm ACME Group plans to invest $6.70 billion over the next five years to build a green hydrogen and ammonia plant. By 2030, India plans to produce five million tonnes of green hydrogen per year in order to meet its climate goals and become a production and export center for the fuel.
