Pilkington UK announced that the natural gas fossil fuel that is now utilized in its production process would be totally replaced by hydrogen at its St Helens site. The HyProvide electrolyzer from Green Hydrogen Systems has entered the Norwegian market, and two freshly purchased systems are planned to produce 389kg of green hydrogen everyday in the country next year. The electrolyser manufacturer announced that it has received an order from Liquiline for the equipment, which will be put within a 40ft container to form a complete green hydrogen plant. The electrolysers will create hydrogen from renewable energy with a total capacity of 0.9MW. According to Green Hydrogen Systems, the electrolyzers will be completely operational in 2022.

A brand-new UK Energy Supply Chain (UKESC) taskforce has been established to assist UK-based businesses in transitioning to a green future using clean technologies such as hydrogen. The UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (UK HFCA) announced its participation in the new taskforce, which is co-chaired by DIT Minister for Exports Graham Stuart and BEIS Energy Minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan. Mitsubishi Power is trying to decarbonize its operations with hydrogen, having ordered what it claims is the world’s largest single stack high-pressure alkaline electrolyzer equipment.
