EnterSolar has completed a 2 MW rooftop solar installation at Simon & Schuster’s Riverside Distribution facility in Delran, New Jersey. The solar system will generate 2.2 million kilowatts of clean energy annually, equivalent to matching one-third of the facility’s onsite energy use. Kincardine offshore wind farm, with a nominal capacity of 50 MW, is located approximately 15 kilometres off the south-east coast of Aberdeen. Gore Street has entered into an agreement to acquire a 100% interest in Ferrymuir Energy Storage, a 50MW energy storage project in Scotland. The project, which has been acquired from a group of investors comprising Abbey Properties, Yoogen and Intelligent Land Investments, consists of a 50MW energy storage system in Fife, Scotland, for which all land rights, grid connections and planning consents have already been secured. GF Corporation, Kyocera Corporation, Kyudenko Corporation, and Tokyo Century Corporation joint venture, Kanoya Osaki Solar Hills, has started operating ‘Kanoya Osaki Solar Hills Solar Power Plant’ in Kyushu, with peak generating capacity of approximately 100 megawatts (MW). Project planning began in January 2014, as the local community expressed interest in re-purposing land designated for a golf course more than 30 years ago that was subsequently abandoned. The Morvern Community Development Company has worked with Triodos Bank UK and the Scottish Investment Bank to secure a new finance arrangement to support the development of a high-head hydropower scheme on the Barr River near Loch Teacuis, Morvern in Lochaber, Scotland. Once installed, the scheme is expected to have a 1.6MW capacity and to generate approximately 4,269,000 kWh each year – enough to power over 1000 homes. First Solar has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Dow for its Gulf Coast operations. Dow’s Texas Operations is the largest petrochemical site in the western hemisphere.
