Both the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and the Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA), two Northeast Ohio-based innovators in future mobility, have announced a collaboration to test intelligent tire sensors and prototype tires on SARTA’s fleet of diesel and zero emission hydrogen fuel cell-powered (HFC) buses, respectively. As a result of sensors installed on the car, Goodyear’s SightLine mobility cloud receives real-time data on tires’ condition. Brighton & Hove and Metrobus have placed an order for 20 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, which will be delivered in June 2022, marking the Go-Ahead Group’s first order of hydrogen powered buses. The gas-powered engines from MAN Energy Solutions are hydrogen-ready and can operate in stationary mode with a hydrogen content of up to 25% by volume in a gas-fuel mix. It is now possible to significantly cut CO2 emissions by using hydrogen in the company’s gas engines. The Olga project has announced that an electrolyzer and related storage and distribution equipment will be installed at Malpensa airport to assure the supply of green hydrogen.
