Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives (IEA) has been awarded a wind construction contract for the 185 MW Glacier Sands wind farm in Mason County, Illinois. Cordelio Power, a North American based renewable power producer, awarded the project to White Construction, a subsidiary of IEA that constructs utility-scale renewable energy and heavy civil infrastructure projects. White Construction has already started limited construction work on the Glacier Sands project and expects to receive full notice to proceed in Q1 2021, with completion of the project expected in October 2021. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy awarded Global Wind Service (GWS) with pre-assembly, transport, and offshore installation for all 89 turbines comprising wind farm Fryslân in the Netherlands. The scope of work includes transport and storage of components, pre-assembly, offshore installation, and the supply of lifting equipment. Ørsted has signed agreements with a consortium comprising global institutional investor Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), and Taiwanese private equity fund Cathay PE, who will be acquiring a total of 50 % ownership share of Ørsted’s 605 MW Greater Changhua 1 offshore wind farm. Siemens Energy has secured a contract by Technology Resources Energy (TRE) to equip two onshore wind farms in Vietnam with Sensproducts, digitally enhanced transmission equipment. The two wind farms IaPet-Dak Doa 1 and IaPet-Dak Doa 2 are both located in the Dak Doa district of Gia Lai province in the country’s central highlands and will have a capacity of 100 megawatts each. Nel has entered into an MoU with Everfuel which involves Everfuel taking a majority stake in H2 Fuel Norway (H2Fuel), a fully owned company of Nel, and changing the name to Everfuel Norway Retail.
