Germany, like many other countries, is looking to transition to renewable energy sources to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change. One of the energy carriers that has been gaining momentum in recent years is green hydrogen.

Hydrogène de France (HDF), a French company, has announced plans to construct a renewable-energy power plant in Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines. The plant, called “Hydrogen Renewstable,” will be the country’s first-ever hydrogen power plant, generating electricity from water.

Hanyang Co., Ltd., a leading South Korean company, has announced its entry into the hydrogen business by partnering with Linde, the world’s largest industrial gas production company based in Germany.

Neste, a Finnish company, has set an ambitious goal to achieve carbon-neutral production by 2035. To reach this objective, the company is undertaking a 120 MW electrolyzer project to produce renewable (green) hydrogen at its Porvoo refinery in Finland.

Technip Energies and John Cockerill have announced the creation of Rely, an integrated technology and solutions provider for green hydrogen and power-to-X markets. The companies aim to address the decarbonization requirements of energy and heavy industries and the need to reach Net Zero goals.

Australia’s Edify Energy is partnering with Siemens Energy Global GmbH to develop a green hydrogen production facility in Northern Queensland, called EGH2.

The Commonwealth of Dominica has signed a Framework Agreement with Kenesjay Green Dominica Limited (KGDL) to establish a joint venture company for the Caribbean’s first large-scale green hydrogen geothermal development. The agreement will be a significant step forward in Dominica’s pursuit of sustainable economic growth through the development of green energy.

Energy expert and assurance provider DNV has expanded its research laboratory in Singapore with new testing equipment to support the safety assessments of hydrogen transport and storage facilities.

Enagás Renovables, Naturgy, and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) have announced a joint investment of €1,700 million in the start-up of a green hydrogen production plant in Andorra, Teruel. The project, known as the “Catalina” project, will generate 425 direct jobs and as many indirect jobs.

Marubeni Europower has submitted plans to develop a green hydrogen production facility in Bridgend, named the HyBont Green Hydrogen Project. The £31m facility will generate hydrogen by splitting water into its component parts through the use of electrolysers powered by electrical energy.
