DEME Offshore has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) contract for the foundations at Parkwind’s Arcadis Ost I offshore wind farm. The XXL monopiles will be the largest ever installed in Europe with a weight of around 2,000 tonnes each. Siemens Gamesa has been awarded the firm order from the EDF Renewables-Enbridge-wpd consortium for the 448 MW Courseulles-sur-Mer offshore wind power project. Located 10 km off the Bessin coast, the project brings the total capacity awarded to Siemens Gamesa by the consortium in France to approx. 1 GW. Aker Clean Hydrogen, Tinn Municipality and Rjukan Næringsutvikling have signed an agreement for development of a hydrogen factory in Rjukan. The project will use access to hydropower locally to develop a hydrogen project with low life cycle costs (Levelized Cost of Hydrogen). The plant will have a capacity of 50 to 80 megawatts and produce green hydrogen for local marine transport such as passenger ferries in Eastern Norway.
