Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), 162.2 MW onshore wind farm, Bearkat II, successfully launched commercial operations and obtained tax equity financing in October 2020. Bearkat II is located in Glasscock County, Texas, and has been co-developed by Dallas-based developer Tri Global Energy. The project uses 47 V126-3.45 MW Vestas turbines that generate wind power to support the ERCOT power sector. Iberdrola and Volvo Car España have signed a framework partnership agreement to encourage sustainable mobility, in which the energy group will supply charging solutions for the Recharge vehicle range of the car manufacturer in Spain. The solution that Iberdrola and its subsidiary Wallbox will supply to Volvo is intended to make the charging of its customers’ vehicles simpler, as it requires both the supply of the charging point and its installation in a private or shared garage. Van Oord has become a shareholder in Saare Wind Energy. Saare Wind Energy is building an offshore wind farm in Saaremaa, Estonia. The partnership with Van Oord enables Saare Wind Energy to step up the planning process for this offshore wind farm, as financial support and expertise are combined. Banks Renewables, Lethans wind farm, has received approval from the Scottish Government. IRENA projections show that global offshore wind and ocean energy installed capacity will reach 228 GW and 10 GW respectively by 2030. The construction of the Villers-le-Tourneur wind farm began in the Grand-Est area, near the Belgian border, in September, just as restrictions on construction work due to the bird nesting season ended. Five N-117 Nordex turbines, each with a hub height of 91 meters and a total capacity of 15 MW, are planned to supply electricity to approximately 10,000 households each year in the future. Mainstream Renewable Power has closed a $280 million “mezzanine” construction financing facility with the leading alternative lender AMP Capital Infrastructure Debt Fund IV. The AMP Capital Facility complements the $1.25 billion in senior project financing debt that has been raised to date through two separate financings completed in October 2019 and August 2020.
