Vestas has received a 210 MW order of V150-4.2 MW turbines for a wind project in the USA. The order involves the supply and commissioning of turbines as well as a 10-year AOM 5000 service agreement designed to ensure optimized efficiency for the lifetime of the project. Delivery and commissioning of turbines is planned for the first quarter of 2022. The customer and project are undisclosed per the customer’s request.
ORIX has entered into an agreement to invest in Elawan Energy, a multinational renewable energy corporation headquartered in Madrid, Spain, committed to the production and ownership of wind and solar PV power plants. ORIX will hold an 80 percent interest in Elawan through its wholly owned subsidiary, ORIX Corporation Europe. The founders of Elawan, Acek Renewables and CEO Dionisio Fernandez will continue to hold a 20 percent stake in the company. Vestas has received an order of 63 MW for two wind projects from Statkraft, Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy and a multinational energy trading group, following the RESS1 Auction in Ireland. The project will feature a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution, which will minimize downtime of the turbine and thereby maximize the energy production. Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has requested approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) for six additional energy storage projects totaling 387 megawatts (MW) of capacity. Designed to further incorporate clean energy from renewable energy sources while helping to ensure future reliability of the electrical grid. The six project agreements complete the procurement specifications of PG&E outlined in the CPUC decision of November 2019, which defined possible problems with the efficiency of the electrical grid, starting in the summer of 2021. Vikram Solar and EPC solutions & rooftop solar provider have commissioned a rooftop solar project on their manufacturing facility in Falta, West Bengal. The 919.73 kWp plant consists of 2,574 solar panels ranging from 325Wp to 400Wp covering an area of 6,500 square meters. The solar plant will provide more than 27 percent of the overall electricity consumption of the entire production unit during normal daytime operation. Siemens Gamesa has signed a 66 MW deal to supply the Swedish wind energy supplier Rabbalshede Kraft with its Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform, as this market-leading turbine is gaining strength in the Nordic region. The deal is the first with Rabbalshede Kraft in 11 years, with a renewed collaboration to provide one of the most efficient onshore platforms providing low level energy costs to customers. ALLETE Clean Energy has started commercial operations at its Diamond Spring wind site in southern Oklahoma. The output from the 303‐megawatt Diamond Spring site is contracted to provide renewable energy to Walmart, Smithfield Foods and Starbucks though separate renewable energy sales agreements with 12‐15 year terms. Canadian Solar has sold the remaining 30 percent ownership of the Big Fish SPV (Big Fish) and Iron SPV (Iron) solar projects to Falck Renewables. Both projects are located in Sicily, Italy, with a total planned capacity of more than 290 MWp. The Canadian Solar plans to recognize sales revenues in the fourth quarter of 2020. Siemens Gamesa has signed a record order for the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform in a 465 MW deal with Patria Investments, to supply the São Vitor wind farm in the northeast of the country. The wind farm will be equipped with 75 Siemens Gamesa 5.8-170 turbines with OptimaFlex technology, operating at 6.2 MW.
