LONGi has supplied its Hi-MO 4 Series modules for Phase I of the Xuan Thien Ea Sup Project in Dak Lak, Vietnam. The technology group Wärtsilä’s extensive experience in marine hybrid propulsion solutions will enable a greatly decreased emissions footprint for three newbuild eco-friendly 5,000 dwt bulk carriers. The 90 metres long ships are being built at the Colombo Dockyard in Sri Lanka for Misje Eco Bulk, a unit of the Norway based Misje Rederi group. Germany’s largest solar park in Werneuchen (Brandenburg) fed the first kilowatt hour of electricity into the grid. ABO Wind has generated gross proceeds of €16.2 million in the largest capital increase in the company’s history. Bankhaus Metzler placed the issue as sole bookrunner with selected institutional investors and achieved a 2.3-fold oversubscription. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has agreed to make a capital investment in H2U Investments, the holding entity of the H2U Group. The H2U Group includes The Hydrogen Utility (H2U), the leading Australian developer of green hydrogen and green ammonia projects using power derived from renewable energy sources. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has signed an order of 130 MW to supply 26 SG 5.0-145 wind turbines to Berkshire Hathaway Energy Canada for the Rattlesnake Ridge wind power project, one of the country’s first subsidy free wind farms. Located southwest of Medicine Hat, Alberta, this project has a generation capacity of 130 MW and will provide clean, affordable electricity to more than 79,000 Canadian households. Equinor and SSE have reached a financial close in the first two phases of the Dogger Bank wind farm Project, which represents the biggest offshore wind project financing in the world to date. Total senior debt facility over the two phases is £4.8 billion plus ancillary facilities of about £0.7 billion. Dogger Bank A and B are being project financed with gearing of 65 percent to 70 percent for the generation assets. EDP Renováveis has secured a 74 MW Solar PV project with a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) through its subsidiary EDP Renewables North America. The project is located in the U.S. state of North Carolina in detail and is scheduled to begin operations in 2022. With EDPR’s current solar assets in operation and 1,5 GW of new solar projects already underway, EDPR’s portfolio will expand its technical diversification and cross 1,8 GW of solar capacity build-out by 2022. Wärtsilä has received more orders from Pakistani cement producer, Lucky Cement, to deliver engine generating sets. Lucky Cement’s Pezu power plant in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province already operates with ten Wärtsilä dual-fuel engines supplying the electricity needed to run the production. With new cement lines installed, an additional three Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines, each with an output of 10 MW, have been ordered to provide the additional power required for the power plant without grid connection.
