Electricity storage inventions have grown 14% a year over the past decade, according to a new joint study by the European Patent Office and the IEA. Energi Coast, North East England’s Offshore Wind Cluster, is launching a new Innovation Group, which aims to develop long term solutions to meet the requirements for new technology in offshore wind. Pivot Energy has agreed with Wazee Partners, a Denver-based real estate company, for a 445-kilowatt community solar subscription. The subscription will serve two income-qualified multi-family buildings in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The subscription represents the final amount of renewable energy needed to supply each building with 100% clean energy. Wazee Partners’ solar subscription will be fulfilled through a community solar garden developed and operated by Pivot Energy, and solely dedicated to serve income-qualified residents in Colorado. The solar subscription will avoid the amount of greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to nearly 150 passenger vehicles driven for an entire year.

LONGi has signed an agreement with TBEA Sunoasis to supply 360MW of its high-efficiency solar modules for TBEA’s energy production base at Shihezi City in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Billions of euros in German taxpayers’ money are still flowing into stock transactions that contribute to a global warming trajectory far above that agreed on in the Paris Climate Agreement, divestment initiative Fossil Free says. The initiative carried out an analysis of all stock transactions by federal and state authorities in Germany in 2018 and found that 13.2 billion euros in tax money are going to about 1,700 listed companies without regular checks on the investments’ climate impact. Boulder-based juwi Inc. and Colorado Springs Utilities announced they signed a power purchase agreement for a 175-megawatt (MW) solar project coupled with a 25 MW, four-hour battery energy storage system.
