MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has been chosen as the preferred supplier of wind turbines for the EolMed floating project and will supply three V164-10.0 MW turbines. The development of floating offshore winds in France took another step forward, as Qair (formerly known as Quadran Énergies Marines) tapped MHI Vestas Offshore Wind to supply three V164-10.0 MW turbines for the EolMed pilot project. The project will add to the unique V164 cumulative experience, as the floating offshore wind industry sets its sights on commercial developments over the next decade. This will be the second floating project to carry the nominal power…
Neoen has signed a power purchase agreement with CleanCo Queensland for 110 MW of wind power. This is the second agreement signed this year between the two companies following the signing of a 352 MWp power purchase agreement for Western Downs Green Power Hub, Australia’s largest solar farm. The contract will allow Neoen to construct the 157 MW Kaban wind farm near the town of Ravenshoe, 80 kilometers southwest of Cairns, Australia, to supply renewable energy to the Powerlink Queensland transmission network. The wind resource in the Far North of Queensland produces an electricity profile that is distinct and highly complementary…
Petrofac’s Engineering and Production Services (EPS) business has been awarded the first ever Green Hydrogen Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract for the landmark Arrowsmith hydrogen project, which will become Australia’s largest commercial green hydrogen complex. The contract represents a major strategic step in Petrofac’s continued growth of new and renewable energy and quickly follows its recently announced awards and collaborations to support carbon capture storage and hydrogen projects in the UK and abroad. Last month, the company made a pledge to reach Net Zero emissions by 2030, with its EPS sector projected to reach Net Zero by 2025. Awarded…
BayWa r.e Wind has appointed Natural Power as a Independent Engineer of Record for its 250-MW Amadeus wind project located north of Rotan, Texas, that is currently under construction. When operational, the project will install GE wind turbines across nearly 25.000 acres of federal, state and privately owned land and will produce enough clean, renewable energy to supply more than 75,000 homes yearly. “We appreciate the opportunity to serve as Independent Engineer on Amadeus in support of tax equity and construction debt financing.
