Sabella has secured its place in a pilot demonstration project, the SELKIE cross-border project, aiming to boost the marine energy industry in Wales and Ireland, following a tender call for participation. Sabella is a tidal technology designer and developer based in Brittany, northern France. The company counts twenty five employees and so far, two tidal turbines have been tried and tested in real conditions, D03 and D10. JA Solar has supplied modules for the mountainous photovoltaic power plant project in South Korea, which is built with a capacity of 93 MW and constructed on the ground of an existing 40 MW wind farm. Construction has started on the Chisholm Grid battery energy storage system, the largest standalone battery energy storage project currently under construction outside of California in the US. Chisholm Grid, based in Fort Worth, Texas, will have an initial rated capacity of 100 megawatts (MWac) and is expected to start commercial operations by mid-2021. The Chisholm Grid battery energy storage system was built by Able Grid Infrastructure Holdings, a joint venture between Able Grid and MAP. Siemens Smart Infrastructure has obtained an order from Go Bus, one of the biggest bus operators in New Zealand, to supply two of their bus depots with eBuses charging infrastructure. The order fulfills two separate contracts with Go Bus in Auckland and Christchurch. In Christchurch, 25 electric buses will be powered by Siemens systems, the first large-scale electric bus fleet in the region. The systems will charge nine buses in Auckland that will run on a new electric airport link. Operations are expected to begin early in 2021.
