The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop opportunities and areas for cooperation through joint advocacy initiatives and other activities to boost efforts in driving offshore wind developments in Taiwan. Sonnedix has completed a non-recourse financing of 13 solar photovoltaic plants in Spain, with a total installed capacity of 63 MWp, worth €321 million. The financing included long-term debt facilities with CaixaBank and BNP Paribas serving as Global Coordinators, Bookrunners, and Mandated Lead Arrangers. Bankia joined them as Mandated Lead Arranger, and in addition to the three MLAs, Triodos Bank, Abanca, and Liberbank formed a syndicate of six lenders. CaixaBank, BNP Paribas, Bankia, and Abanca served as Facility Agent for Hedging Banks and Bondholders. BlueSATH floating wind platform in El Abra del Sardinero (Santander, Spain) was installed and commissioned at its final deployment site. The Spanish engineering company Saitec Offshore Technologies has set off from Astander’s Dock Pontejos to its destination 800 meters off the coast of Cantabria, where it was tied up for its set-up. The already-laid mooring lines were then retrieved from the seabed, and the hook-up platform was completed in less than 3 hours. RWE supports the newly launched European Clean Hydrogen Alliance (ECH2A). The organisation has ambitious aims on the deployment of hydrogen technologies by 2030; bringing together renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production, demand in industry, mobility and other sectors, as well as hydrogen transmission and distribution. These objectives fit perfectly with RWE’s view of hydrogen as one of the great hopes for the decarbonization of industry. Siemens Energy is supplying the high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) power transmission technology for a further offshore connection in the German North Sea. The German-Dutch network operator TenneT and the BorWin5 Offshore Consortium signed a corresponding contract, consisting of Siemens Energy and Dragados Offshore. In 2025, the platform BorWin epsilon, which is part of the BorWin5 project, will begin the low-loss transmission of electricity produced by the EnBW He Dreiht wind farm off the island of Borkum to the Garrel/Ost converter station around 230 kilometers distant. The transmission capacity of 900 megawatts is calculated to serve over 1.1 million households with electricity.…

Vestas has received a 150 MW order in China that includes the supply of 53 V120-2.2 MW in 2.4 MW Power Optimized Mode and seven V155-3.3 MW turbines. The order also includes a 5-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement. Deliveries are scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2020, with commissioning planned for the same year. Customer’s name and project’s name are undisclosed under customer’s request.

Vestas secured an additional 50 MW order for the second phase of Hoa Binh 1 wind farm. Since securing the first phase in December last year, Vestas has been working closely with the Phuong Anh Group to optimize this second phase of the project. The project is in Hòa Bình, a district of Bạc Liêu Province where the turbines will be installed in shallow waters close to shore along the Mekong Delta region. Vestas has secured a 101 MW order for a project in China that includes the supply of 42 V120-2.2 MW wind turbines delivered in 2.4 MW Power Optimised Mode, and a 20-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement. With this order, Vestas has reached an order intake in China in 2020 of over 1 GW. Deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2020, with commissioning planned for the same quarter. The project and customer names are undisclosed.

Vattenfall solar team has set a new solar racing world endurance record in the Netherlands. The Nuna Phoenix solar car traveled more than 924 kilometers entirely powered by solar power over 12 hours. This year, because of the coronavirus, inclusion in an international solar race is impossible. Therefore, in an effort to set a new world endurance record, the Vattenfall solar team took their self-built Nuna Phoenix solar car to the RDW (Department of Road Transport) test track in Lelystad, the Netherlands.
