The County of San Luis Obispo has completed two solar projects at the Department of Parks and Recreation’s Dairy Creek golf course and the Department of Social Services on South Higuera Street, both located in San Luis Obispo. These solar parking canopies are the first of several County solar projects expected to exceed 552 kilowatts (kW) marking a significant sustainability milestone for the County. The two projects, built and funded by ForeFront Power, are planned to provide more than 80 percent of the electricity needs on site. Nordex customers have ordered 217 wind turbines for projects with a combined output of 888.0 megawatts, from April to June. The intake of firm orders in the Projects segment (excluding the service business) reached a volume of 2,531.9 MW in the first half of 2020. Siemens Gamesa has scored a double order, including one for Vietnam’s largest nearshore wind farm, as the country advances rapidly on its renewable ambitions.
