Canadian Solar has signed two private power purchase agreements (PPA) with Braskem and COPEL Energia for a total of 274 MWp in solar power projects in Brazil. Canadian Solar will develop and construct a 152 MWp project for this PPA in Minas Gerais State, in the same region as other projects already developed and constructed by the company. wpd and Finnish retailer K Group have signed a 15-year PPA that will see the Germans providing more than 40GWh of renewable electricity annually. Iberdrola has agreed to take majority investments in ventures with the renewable energy company Svea Vind Offshore (SVO) to build up to 9GW of offshore wind energy in Sweden in the future. A total of eight projects are in different stages of development, and operations are expected to begin in 2029. Vestas has received an order for 249 MW of V136-4.2 MW turbines and V136-3.45 MW of turbines delivered in 3.6 MW of Power Optimized Mode for a U.S. project including 4 MW of previously purchased components, the project has a total capacity of 300 MW. The order includes the turbine delivery and commissioning as well as a multi-year AOM 5000 service agreement designed to ensure optimized performance throughout the project’s lifetime. The delivery of turbines will begin in the second quarter of 2021 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021. The project and customer are undisclosed.

DEME Offshore has installed the first turbine at the Belgian North Sea offshore wind farm SeaMade. SeaMade is Belgium’s biggest offshore wind farm, with a capacity of 487 MW.
