Iberdrola has agreed to take majority investments in ventures with the renewable energy company Svea Vind Offshore (SVO) to build up to 9GW of offshore wind energy in Sweden in the future. A total of eight projects are in different stages of development, and operations are expected to begin in 2029. They are clustered around two regional clusters: Gavle (six wind farms with 5.1 GW in total) and Oxelosund (two offshore wind farms with 3.9 GW combined). Vestas has received an order for 249 MW of V136-4.2 MW turbines and V136-3.45 MW of turbines delivered in 3.6 MW of Power Optimized Mode for a U.S. project including 4 MW of previously purchased components, the project has a total capacity of 300 MW. The order includes the turbine delivery and commissioning as well as a multi-year AOM 5000 service agreement designed to ensure optimized performance throughout the project’s lifetime. The delivery of turbines will begin in the second quarter of 2021 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021. The project and customer are undisclosed.

DEME Offshore has installed the first turbine at the Belgian North Sea offshore wind farm SeaMade. SeaMade is Belgium’s biggest offshore wind farm, with a capacity of 487 MW.
