A vehicle carrying hydrogen gas caught fire near the Yuseong Tunnel on the Daejeon Dangjin Expressway, today around 3:52 p.m.
After receiving the complaint, the fire department responded with 86 employees and 16 pieces of equipment, extinguishing the fire in about 30 minutes.
The vehicle was said to be carrying around 600 kg of hydrogen gas at the time.
After the fire broke out, the truck driver was able to flee the vehicle.
The actual origin of the fire, as well as the amount of damage to life and property, are being investigated by police and fire authorities.
