K2 Management has won two mandates to provide technical expertise for onshore wind projects in Pakistan.
Developer, Artistic Milliners, named K2 Management as owner’s engineer to provide full technical advice during the construction process of the 50MW Artistic Wind Power Project in Jhimpir, Pakistan.
The scope of the work includes a review of comprehensive engineering and design, project management and site oversight over the 16-month implementation duration of the EPC before the start of commercial service, scheduled at the end of 2021.
“Artistic Milliners is well recognized in the Pakistan renewables industry, thanks to our large pipeline of clean energy and clear commitment to improving Pakistan’s energy outlook. K2 Management’s broad yet detailed understanding of delivering onshore wind projects will support us in delivering a project that fits the requirements of international lenders.”
Ehtisham Akhtar, head of technical at Artistic Energy.
K2 Management has also been named by Zephyr Power to handle assets for its 50MW onshore wind farm operation outside Karachi, Pakistan.
The scope involves auditing the current management and output of the wind farm, which became operational in2019, and introducing best practices and processes to improve the efficiency and viability of the wind farm over its planned 20-year existence.
“This is our first experience owning and operating a wind project and for that reason we want to explore the best way of optimizing the technical and financial performance of our wind farm. Appointing K2 Management in this role will not only give us access to technical expertise, but insights into international and established practices in project operations that we otherwise wouldn’t learn.”
Kumayl Khaleeli, CEO and Owner at Zephyr Power.
“We are proud to be supporting Artistic Milliners in developing its project. In delivering technical, health & safety and coordination excellence as part of our scope, we follow our regional vision. The asset management scope of work on the Zephyr project also shows our long-term ambitions and complete end-to-end offer to help our clients deliver better energy projects. Both projects are contributing to the Pakistan’s long-term goal of injecting more wind and solar PV into the country’s energy mix and we are happy to be part of that.”
Patrick Architta, president, projects Asia at K2 Management.
