Latvenergo, a prominent public electricity utility in Latvia, has invited a tender for the procurement of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The tender, titled “Elektroenerģijas uzkrāšanas sistēmu (BESS) piegāde/ Supply of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)”, was published on January 27, 2025, with a submission deadline set for February 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM UTC+2. This tender is crucial for advancing energy storage capabilities, which are essential for supporting renewable energy integration and ensuring a reliable electricity supply in the region.

The main objectives of this tender are to enhance the capacity and reliability of Latvia’s energy infrastructure by integrating advanced battery storage technologies. Specifically, the tender seeks suppliers capable of delivering high-quality battery storage systems that can be efficiently connected to the European Power System Operators (EU PSO) network. Potential suppliers are expected to demonstrate economic and financial standing, along with documented technical and professional skills as per the tender documents.

Technical requirements include systems that have been previously integrated into the EU PSO network, ensuring they meet European standards for interoperability and reliability.
