Milani and Stargate Hydrogen have set their sights on a collective target of 50-100MW of joint projects over the next seven years. This partnership, formalized through a Letter of Intent (LOI), is poised to have a significant impact on Southern Europe’s clean energy landscape.

Milani, driven by a commitment to accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions in Southern Europe, has selected Stargate Hydrogen as its exclusive supplier of alkaline electrolyser stacks. This strategic decision marks a pivotal step toward realizing their clean energy goals. The LOI outlines their joint commitment to achieving ambitious targets in the coming years.

To kickstart their collaboration, both companies have commissioned work on their inaugural joint project. Stargate Hydrogen will supply a 100kW electrolyser stack for the first demonstration installation by Milani. This project represents the beginning of a broader initiative, with a shared vision of seamlessly integrating Stargate Hydrogen’s electrolyser stacks into Milani’s hydrogen production systems.

The collaboration between Milani and Stargate Hydrogen is built on the synergy of their respective strengths. Stargate Hydrogen will provide essential engineering support during the system definition phase, ensuring the flawless integration of their advanced electrolyser stacks. Milani, on the other hand, will contribute its extensive competences in system integration and certification processes.

Both companies are committed to amplifying each other’s innovative solutions, enhancing their visibility, and making a lasting impact in the dynamic hydrogen industry. This collaboration extends far beyond the initial demonstration project, with plans for larger installations already in the pipeline. Stargate Hydrogen will continue to supply electrolyser stacks for additional electrolyser projects, solidifying their partnership’s long-term potential.

Paola Quadri, Technology BU Manager at Milani, stated, “We aspire to lead the way in hydrogen technology within Italy and extend our solutions to clients across Europe. With Stargate Hydrogen by our side, we envision a collaborative future and are resolute in our commitment to nurturing a robust and enduring partnership.”

Marko Virkebau, representing Stargate Hydrogen, added, “It is part of our strategy to partner with capable system integrators to capture a larger share of the market with our innovative electrolyser stacks. We firmly believe in the power of collaboration and are committed to fostering a strong and lasting partnership with Milani.”

This partnership comes on the heels of Stargate Hydrogen’s grant agreement with the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program, where they will demonstrate the full value chain of green hydrogen. It’s worth noting that this project is coordinated by the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) and is set to receive €10.7 million in funding.

Stargate Hydrogen’s track record of successful collaborations, including projects with Poland involving a 10kW stack from their Stellar series, showcases their dedication to advancing hydrogen technology and forging partnerships that drive the clean energy revolution.
