Mobec, a frontrunner in mobile EV charging infrastructure, has joined forces with IILM University, a prestigious academic institution. Their strategic partnership is set to ignite a new era of research and innovation, focusing on hydrogen fuel cells as a primary power source for EV battery charging.

Despite ambitious targets set by NITI Aayog to achieve 70% EV market penetration for commercial vehicles and 30% for private cars in India by 2030, the Ministry of Coal reports that a substantial 75% of India’s electricity production still depends on thermal power. Recognizing this stark dichotomy, Mobec and IILM University are embarking on a mission to reduce this dependency by harnessing Mobec’s burgeoning EV infrastructure and combining it with IILM University’s expertise in clean energy generation.

At the heart of this groundbreaking partnership lies a commitment to driving innovation in sustainable energy solutions. Together, Mobec.io’s technological prowess and IILM University’s cutting-edge research capabilities will spearhead diverse projects encompassing electric vehicle charging and hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Harry Bajaj, Founder & CEO of Mobec, underscored the significance of this collaboration, stating, “As Mobec’s mobile EV charging service gains substantial traction, we aim to lead the way in innovation and seek the most sustainable solutions within the EV ecosystem. The partnership with IILM University plays a pivotal role in our journey, highlighting our dedication to technological advancement and the immense potential for innovation in the sustainable energy sector.”

Beyond the realm of industry advancement, this collaboration offers students at IILM University an invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience in forward-thinking projects. By immersing themselves in the world of sustainable energy, these students are poised to become catalysts for transformative change.

A spokesperson from IILM University added, “Our partnership with Mobec not only underscores our commitment to fostering innovation but also offers our students unparalleled opportunities for hands-on engagement with cutting-edge research in sustainable energy and EV solutions. We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership and anticipate achieving remarkable feats together.”

Currently, Mobec operates its mobile EV charging fleet in Noida, with expansion plans into Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai on the horizon. The choice of these cities is primarily driven by the escalating sales of electric vehicles and the real estate constraints observed in these burgeoning markets.

The Mobec-IILM University collaboration symbolizes a significant leap towards making sustainable and green energy the driving force behind India’s EV future, ultimately benefiting the environment, the economy, and the education sector.
