Nikola Corporation, a prominent player in hydrogen fuel cell technology, has inaugurated its inaugural HYLA hydrogen refueling station in Southern California.
Situated at 2445 East Guasti Road in Ontario, California, this station marks a significant milestone in Nikola’s mission to provide cutting-edge hydrogen refueling solutions for Class 8 trucks.
At the heart of the Ontario station lies an advanced modular fueler, designed to facilitate efficient and rapid refueling of hydrogen fuel cell electric Class 8 trucks. With the capacity to serve up to 40 trucks daily, this station embodies Nikola’s commitment to enhancing the accessibility and viability of hydrogen-powered transportation.
The launch of the Ontario station is part of Nikola’s broader strategic plan to establish a comprehensive network of hydrogen refueling solutions. With ambitions to deploy up to 60 stations in the coming years, Nikola aims to revolutionize the landscape of clean energy transportation. By the end of Q2 2024, nine stations are slated for deployment, underscoring Nikola’s rapid pace of expansion in the hydrogen refueling sector.
In addition to state-of-the-art infrastructure, Nikola is committed to providing unparalleled customer support. The HYLA refueling solutions network will feature round-the-clock assistance from on-site HYLA Ambassadors and Operation Technicians, ensuring seamless operations and optimal user experience. Moreover, Nikola aims to offer Class 8 customers flexible refueling options, including modular and permanent HYLA stations, customer-owned facilities, and strategic partnerships with public truck stops.
Nikola’s vision for a hydrogen-powered future extends beyond infrastructure development. The company recently announced a landmark 10-year agreement with FirstElement Fuel for the establishment of a hydrogen refueling station in Oakland, California. This partnership exemplifies Nikola’s commitment to fostering collaboration within the industry and accelerating the adoption of clean energy solutions.
