On Sunday, October 23, 2022, the Ministry of Energy and Minerals will host a press conference to announce the official opening of the Oman Hydrogen Company as well as opportunities and incentives for investment in the green hydrogen industry.
At the meeting, royal orders for the Sultanate of Oman’s achievement of carbon neutrality by 2050 will be laid out. To stay in line with worldwide efforts to cut carbon emissions, it will also entail the creation of the Oman Sustainability Centre.
The ministry has made significant strides toward quickening the regulatory process for the hydrogen industry, establishing the laws and regulations required for its expansion, and choosing suitable locations for its manufacturing. The action aims to draw investments, localize green hydrogen technology, and carry out the research required for its realization.
The carbon management outputs are a critical first step that will help Oman become carbon neutral.
