The Romanian Ministry of Energy has released a tender titled “Development of National Hydrogen Infrastructure,” published on December 16, 2024.
Interested parties must submit their proposals by February 28, 2025. The primary goal of this tender is to establish a robust hydrogen infrastructure across Romania, facilitating the production, storage, and distribution of hydrogen as a clean energy source. The Ministry of Energy seeks proposals that can support the growth of hydrogen refueling stations and the development of efficient hydrogen production plants.
Proposals must include detailed plans for constructing or upgrading facilities that can handle green hydrogen. Green hydrogen is generated through the electrolysis of water using renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, or hydroelectric power. Applicants should illustrate not only their technical expertise in creating an end-to-end hydrogen ecosystem but also their ability to integrate it with the existing energy grid, thereby ensuring reliability and consistency.
This initiative is expected to pave the way for reduced greenhouse gas emissions and a more sustainable energy landscape in Romania.
