Royal HaskoningDHV has been hired by North Falls Offshore Wind to provide the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) services in support of the Development Consent Order (DCO) application for the project, a proposed extension to Greater Gabbard in the southern North Sea.
North Falls Offshore Wind Farm is a joint venture between SSE Renewables and RWE Renewables. North Falls will provide an important contribution to the UK’s target for offshore wind to provide enough electricity to power all homes in the country by 2030, as announced by the UK Government.
“We welcome Royal HaskoningDHV to the team and look forward to benefitting from their significant and comprehensive expertise in the sector. Their appointment marks the kick off of our EIA process and is a tangible step forward in this early phase of North Falls’ development.”
Daniel Harper, consents manager at North Falls.
“This is an exciting opportunity to continue our leading role in offshore wind consultancy. We will be leading on a range of offshore and onshore disciplines that are required to successfully deliver a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, incorporating the collective experience, having consented 12GW of offshore wind in the UK during more than 20 years in the industry.”
Ed Frost, Royal HaskoningDHV project director.
As part of the EIA and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA), Royal HaskoningDHV will work closely with North Falls Offshore Wind and its wider team to develop management and mitigation measures to ensure the successful and sustainable development of North Falls.
