After signing an MoU with Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone to study the development of new green ammonia project, Scatec met with Egypt’s government to discuss its green hydrogen plans.
If everything goes as planned, Scatec and SCZone hope to build a large-scale facility that can produce hydrogen from renewable sources, which they call “green hydrogen.”
Just two months ago, Scatec announced a firm project to build an electrolysis plant in Egypt with a 100 MW electrolysis capacity for green hydrogen production.
The Sovereign Fund of Egypt and Fertiglobe plc, a nitrogen fertilizer producer and exporter, collaborated with Scatec on this project.
