Alongside sustainable sanitary trends, the energy turnaround will be one of the main topics at SHK ESSEN from September 6 to 9 at Messe Essen.

Because the trade fair with its around 400 exhibitors and the SHK NRW trade association as the conceptual sponsor stands for climate protection in practice. Under the title “Hydrogen Practice in Dialog”, visitors can expect a separate specialist forum for the first time this year in Hall 2 on all aspects of one of the energy sources of the future. There, exhibitors will present, among other things, fields of application for hydrogen in the SHK sector as well as devices and components.

With the proportional feeding of hydrogen into the natural gas network and the planning of hydrogen networks, new products are also being used. From preparation and installation to maintenance and servicing, questions and new task spectrums arise for SHK professionals from the trades and technical building equipment. “The energy turnaround can only be achieved with the support of the skilled trades and industry. With the new platform ‘Hydrogen Practice in Dialog’ at SHK ESSEN, our member companies are playing their part,” explains Volker Meyer, General Manager of the Federal Association of Companies in the Gas and Water Trade (figawa), which is a partner of the new specialist forum.

Products and trade fair innovations from Bosch Thermotechnik and Siemens

Exhibitors in Hall 2 include Bosch Thermotechnik, the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW), the Essen Gas and Heat Institute, Grünbeck Water Treatment, Karl Dungs, KLINGER, Remeha and Siemens. “We are very pleased that we have succeeded in adding an important future topic to SHK ESSEN. Visitors can experience and compare new products with us. They will also receive practical information for their business. We assume that environmentally friendly and cost-efficient heating systems will have an even greater significance at SHK ESSEN in future,” explains Sabina Großkreuz, Business Unit Manager Marketing at Messe Essen.

In addition to the exhibits of the exhibitors, visitors to the trade forum can expect a program of lectures on all aspects of the energy turnaround on all days of the trade fair. The DVGW, for example, will answer the question of how hydrogen comes into the trade, and the Fuel Cell Initiative will provide information on the significance of the fuel cell for the heating market of the future. In addition, exhibitors Grünbeck Wasseraufbereitung and KLINGER will report on ultrapure water for hydrogen production and flat gaskets for hydrogen. Further topics are among other things training possibilities for the specialized handicraft as well as function principle and ranges of application as well as promotion and economy of the fuel cell.

Tickets for SHK ESSEN are now available online at www.shkessen.de. A ticket costs 21 euros, reduced 11, 50 euros. On the SHK ESSEN website, visitors will also find a digital visit planner under “My trade fair”, which includes, among other things, a watch list and a contact option for exhibitors.
