Solaris, a leading manufacturer of electric buses, has secured a significant order for 23 hydrogen buses from Germany.

The order, placed by the public transport operator Lokale Nahverkehrsgesellschaft mbH (LNVG), marks a pivotal moment in the transition towards zero-emission mobility solutions. With deliveries slated to begin later this year, Solaris’s hydrogen buses are poised to revolutionize the public transit landscape in the District of Groß-Gerau and beyond.

The procurement of 23 hydrogen buses by LNVG underscores a shared commitment to decarbonizing public transportation and combating climate change. By transitioning to zero-emission hydrogen buses, LNVG aims to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner, greener future for its passengers and communities. The deployment of these state-of-the-art vehicles aligns with LNVG’s ambitious goal of transitioning its entire fleet to zero-emission vehicles by 2030, signaling a bold step towards sustainable mobility.

Solaris’s Urbino 12 and Urbino 18 Hydrogen buses represent the pinnacle of hydrogen fuel cell technology in the public transit sector. Powered by energy-efficient fuel cells boasting outputs of 70 kW and 100 kW, respectively, these buses offer unparalleled performance and reliability. Coupled with electric traction motors and Solaris High Power batteries for enhanced energy storage, the Urbino hydrogen buses deliver a seamless and eco-friendly transportation experience. With zero tailpipe emissions, these vehicles are poised to redefine urban mobility and set new standards for environmental stewardship.

The introduction of 23 hydrogen buses into LNVG’s fleet heralds a new era of sustainable public transportation in Germany. By embracing hydrogen fuel cell technology, LNVG not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also improves air quality and public health in the communities it serves. The widespread adoption of hydrogen buses paves the way for cleaner, quieter, and more efficient transit systems, enhancing the quality of life for passengers while preserving the planet for future generations. Moreover, Solaris’s commitment to innovation and sustainability positions it as a trailblazer in the global push towards zero-emission transportation solutions.
