Solaris has recently clinched deals worth 30 million euros to supply hydrogen buses across Europe.
The contracts include orders from cities such as Cologne in Germany and Bolzano in Italy. Both cities are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and see hydrogen buses as a critical component of their strategy.
Hydrogen buses, like those produced by Solaris, use fuel cells that convert hydrogen and oxygen into electricity, emitting only water vapor. This technology offers a cleaner alternative to traditional fossil fuel-powered buses and helps cities reduce air pollution and combat climate change.
Solaris has been at the forefront of green public transport solutions for years, continuously investing in hydrogen, electric, and hybrid bus technologies. The company’s commitment to innovation is now being recognized and rewarded across Europe.
Transitioning to hydrogen buses will have a broad positive impact, including improved air quality and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. These benefits align with the EU’s broader objectives of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
