Technip Energies has been awarded Engineering, Procurement Services and Construction Management (EPsCm) contracts by Galp for an advanced biofuels unit and a green hydrogen unit for its Sines refinery in Portugal. Both projects are part of Galp’s program to reduce the carbon footprint of the refinery and its products.

Fusion Fuel, a Portuguese startup, has secured new funding from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) under component C-5 – Capitalization and Business Innovation for the construction of a decentralised green hydrogen production facility in Elvas with a 1 MW electrolysis capacity.
The GreenH2Atlantic project, which is being developed by the Hytlantic with the participation of EDP, Galp, and other investors, has begun the environmental licensing process.
