A French start-up company Gen-Hy has created novel, high-performance PGM-free (platinum group metal-free) catalysts free of any rare earth metals using catalytic deposition methods on its Gen-AEM membranes for use in alkaline electrolysers.
AEM (Anion Exchange Membrane) electrolyzers created and patented by Gen-Hy will be manufactured by Gen-Hy Cube, whose plant will be located in Montbéliard, according to a joint announcement by Gen-Hy and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes.
By 2025, this prospective location will cover 8,000 m2 on a 4-hectare property, contributing to the development of 120 employment.
