Work has begun on a new coating facility at TFP Hydrogen Products’ North American headquarters in Schenectady, New York.
Adding this line will help keep up with the burgeoning demand for green hydrogen, where our coatings improve the efficiency and durability of PEM water electrolysers, lowering the cost of producing it.
David Hodgson, Managing Director of TFP Hydrogen Products, comments that: “The incorporation of this specialised technology in Schenectady as well as the UK is an important step in the growth of TFP Hydrogen. It will provide the necessary capacity increase to respond to the increasing demand for our materials, as well as enabling us to support our North American customers’ requirements locally.”
As a result of TFP Hydrogen’s development in the UK of specialized coating technology, the new line will provide high performance, optimized coatings for electrochemical process components, such as PEM water electrolysis. Hydrogen produced using renewable energy such as wind and solar panels will be crucial in the global transition to sustainable energy, and PEM electrolysers will play a key role in this process. TFP Hydrogen’s specialized coatings for PEM water electrolysers deliver industry-leading performance; they improve the systems’ performance, efficiency, and durability, while also lowering their long-term costs.
Many other electrochemical technologies can benefit from using our materials, including water electrolysis, which is the primary application. Fuel cells and batteries to advanced wound care to water purification to the regeneration of coral reefs are all examples of how hydrogen technology can be used.
