For the installation of 15 hydrogen stations across 5 EU nations, TotalEnergies will receive €26 million. The organization is one of the recipients of funding from a request for projects focusing on alternative infrastructures.
The winners of an infrastructure-focused request for proposals that was released in November were revealed by the Commission this week.
A total of 26 projects have been chosen, and a total of €188.8 million will be allocated to them. The stated goal is to raise the money necessary to install roughly 2000,63 charging stations and hydrogen stations throughout the major European transportation routes.
The “major winner” of the outcomes of the call for projects appears to be TotalEnergies. The deployment of 15 stations, one of which has an electrolyzer, would cost the French energy firm 26 million euros. Five nations in Europe will receive these: Austria, Germany, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.
Not to be outdone, Hype Assets, with just over 18 million euros, also makes off with a good sum to fund its plans to build up 18 hydrogen refueling stations.
They will be distributed throughout France, Spain, Portugal, and Belgium in “urban nodes”. On-site hydrogen production will be integrated by 3 of them.
