Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the implementation of the Green Hydrogen Policy in the state.

This policy, conceived to combat the pressing threats of global warming and climate change, stands as a testament to the state government’s commitment to fostering a greener and more sustainable future.

During a comprehensive review of the draft policy, Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized the need for a collaborative approach, urging stakeholders’ input before finalizing the policy. This inclusive strategy seeks to create well-rounded policies that consider the perspectives of those actively engaged in the sector, ensuring maximum benefits for investors and end-users alike.

Green hydrogen, hailed by the Chief Minister as a clean and sustainable energy source, is positioned as a key player in achieving the ambitious target of net-zero emissions. The Green Hydrogen Policy is strategically designed to encourage the production of clean and green energy sources within the state, aligning with global efforts to transition towards sustainable practices.

Recognizing the pivotal role of private companies in driving this transition, Chief Minister Adityanath has instructed the provision of significant incentives to companies operating in the green hydrogen sector. These incentives encompass a spectrum of benefits, including land provisions, exemptions from stamp duty and electricity duty, capital and interest subsidies, and various other attractive offerings.

With a focus on encouraging companies to establish units within the state, the government aims to create an environment conducive to the growth of the green hydrogen sector. Beyond attracting investments, these incentives are poised to promote sustainable practices, aligning with broader goals of combating climate change and fostering environmental responsibility.

Once implemented, the Green Hydrogen Policy is expected to play a pivotal role in positioning Uttar Pradesh as a hub for clean energy production. This strategic move not only underscores the state’s commitment to environmental sustainability but also places it at the forefront of India’s efforts to harness clean and sustainable energy sources.

In essence, the Green Hydrogen Policy reflects the Uttar Pradesh government’s unwavering commitment to building a sustainable and eco-friendly future. This visionary initiative not only addresses the immediate concerns of climate change but also paves the way for Uttar Pradesh to emerge as a leader in the realm of green hydrogen, contributing significantly to the larger narrative of global environmental stewardship.
