With a swept area of 20.000 square-meters, the V162-5.6 MW has the largest rotor size in the Vestas portofolio.

The V162-5.6 MW onshore turbine, which was first put to use on the Riskebo wind energy project in February this year, is suitable for low to medium wind speeds and has extensive applicability in high average wind speeds. It has a standard sound power level of 104dB(A) and over 25 percent higher energy production than the V150-4.2 MW.

Options available for the V162-5.6 MW IEC S:

  • Condition Monitoring System
  • Oil Debris Monitoring System
  • Service Personnel Lift
  • Low Temperature Operation to -30°C
  • Vestas Ice Detection™
  • Vestas Anti-Icing System™
  • Vestas InteliLight®
  • Vestas Shadow Detection System
  • Aviation Lights
  • Aviation Markings on the Blades
  • Fire Suppression System
  • Increased Cut-In Wind Speed
  • Lightning Detection System
  • Load Optimised Modes

Maximizing turbine level production, the V162-5.6 MW is specially suitable for projects limited by the number of turbines installed.

The V162-5.6 MW, with its large operational envelope, has great relative site-ability on both turbulence and average wind speeds.

The blades on the V162-5.6 MW are a result of progressive improvements to already proven technical solutions.

The slender profile turbines and pre-bent blades, optimized for weight through application of carbon pultrusion material and a structural shell blade design, enable the optimization of the structural loads while increasing the rotor sizes.

The V162-5.6 MW, part of the EnVentus platform, benefits from the latest developments in control systems, applying the Vestas Control System 8000.

The versatile platform delivers higher levels of robustness and performance with the ability to meet varying grid compliance requirements.
