The supply of a hydrogen-powered CHP plant has been ordered by 2G Energy AG. An Agenitor 404c H2 system will be supplied by a German producer of gas-fired combined heat and power (CHP) systems.
2G Energy said that this is the company’s first hydrogen project on the continent. The customer, an energy firm, has its own electrolyzer and hence significant amounts of hydrogen, which will be transformed into power and heat as needed by 2G’s H2 CHP system.
“We are glad that our hydrogen solutions are now being acknowledged in North America since we have already sold numerous hydrogen CHP units to other European nations, particularly Japan.” According to CEO Christian Grotholt, “the first successful deployment of a hydrogen CHP in North America is also an impetus to further reinforce and grow our global technology leadership in hydrogen.”
2G Energy underlines that any additional CHP units provided with the 2G engine concept may be changed to run on hydrogen or biogas at a later date.
In the current financial year, 2G has already sold four systems that run entirely on hydrogen. More projects are now being discussed, and incoming orders will be received throughout the year.
